Description:
Camponotus floridanus is a particularly beautiful ant species from Florida, the southeastern part of the USA. Their colonies grow exceptionally fast for Camponotus species. It especially likes to nest in rotten tree stumps or dead wood. Like most Camponotus species, it is quite aggressive in defending its nests. They are found in almost all regions of Florida, even in areas heavily used by humans.
