Application: for ants of size M

Description: Flat formicarium made of several layer plates, a special gypsum plate for nest humidification and 3D printed nest inserts. The integrated connection sockets can be used to extend the formicarium via hoses or to connect it to an ant arena. In the middle nest area there is a free area which serves as access to the humidification plate, but is also suitable for the placement of food bowls. This free area is covered by a frame ring. (Optionally, this frame ring can be coated from the inner underside with an anti-breakout media (oil, varnish or powder). This prevents the animals from escaping through the opening. The grid insert with stainless steel mesh serves as a cover for the center opening, while providing optimal ventilation. Through the time-consuming 3D printing process, designs that mimic nature can be produced. The resulting surfaces are rough. Smooth layered acrylic panels were used for the base and lid for optimal nest visibility. These are also easy to clean.
