they shuld be fine, eventually they will settle down, but there will always be the occasional movement, as they are not really asleep, their body functions slow down so they cant do anything

@ciluvagyok

There used to be another Hungarian member in the english part of the forum - called Acerola I think. He had quite a good knoledge about ants and very good photos.

Tbh, I prefer see you guys around here where bigger public can benefit from your posts than to see you have "private" chats on the hungarian forum where maybe only a few people would read it.

No hard feelings, just my oppinion. :wink:

OK, but I was thinking that not all Hungarian people speak English... By the way, I'll post the Hungarian version on my blog so if somebody searches the google in Hun they may find miszt's care sheet and AntStore :)
In our country other species are well-known on terraristic topic, mainly spiders and other bigger insects, and no ant keepers. I'll search for Acerola, maybe there are others nearby who don't think I'm insane for having ants :)

Other topic: What do you think about AntWorks? I know that it's the worst to keep ants in that piece of rubbish, but is there any way to make people stop buying that jelly sh.t? I mean first I wanted to get one but sice I found this topic and you guys, and read some info about ants I realized how bad AntWorks is.

Anyway, I found a guy on the Net, he has very seriou installation, check this out:

What do you think? :)

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year!!!! :D
I haven't seen you since ages!!

Question: is 5 celsius degrees too low for lasius niger? I mean my fridge is at this temperature and the ants move only a little tiny bit... I hope I'm not killing them with this temperature... :(

Yes, it´s hard to wait, I´m look forward to this seazon very much.... I know Krungkuene.org, I want to have some set- up like this with my Crematogaster scutellaris... I mean bigg set- up in all of my room, but not so crazy like this guy have... I think for L. niger hybernation is 5°C in fridge allright! :thumright: When I started with ants, was a Semptember, and winter come in October.. It was very difficult to wait for spring, for me, but I had luckyly found Temnothorax colony in one wood in my garden, and that stopped my boring time of ant keeping... Hehe... This time I´m very happy and waiting for next seazon....
Best regards Messorus
