Temnothorax nylanderi

Beitragvon amrik singh » 21. Mai 2008 21:38

I did indicate by mistake in my introduction that I did have many years ago a colony of Temnotorax nilandery ,in fact it was a small colony of leptotorax sp. with about 30workers +larvas and nymphs without queen that I did find under a stone in the Meuse valley. I kept it in a very small gibs nest i a arena of Myrmica rubra . to my surprise there were no signe of any hostility: the leptothorax simply immobilised when a myrmica investigate and each ant keped away from the entrance of the other nest.Simply the Myrmicas ceased the preys transported by the leptotorax at each occasion.
