well i hear mixed issues with Ligniperda. Some ppl say they eat nonstop and are very actice. Others say they dont eat at all.. Well i think it depends on the colony size maybe. if there smaller they might stay in the nest. Also if there disturbed to often, they could think they are not safe and never come out. When i first got mine they never left the nest i had them in. But once i made them a large cork nest with a small heating pad under part of it, they changed there attitude. queen starting laying eggs very fast and they were takin in a lot of food. Started with 15 ants and in a few months there at 36. So i think it could be a couple things. 1. temp. 2. dont like there nest. 3. need to be not bothered in there new home for a bit so they can get used to it. I wish you luck though guys

yes maybe I should buy them Mc Donalds :P

Oh well I hope they will do better quick.
Cause the larve grow also very slow now
and they have to be fit before the winter.
If they are not I'm scared they will die in their sleep.... :(

Actually the larva stage is the only stage that is able to survive hybernation. And Caponotus are know to hybernate with lots of larva that then develope next year. So don't be surprised if won't get new workers this year. You'll have plenty in then in spring.
