First i have put "Seramis Granulat 200g" (here at antstore) at the bottom and then i have placed my Y-tong nest on it (made it my self from a y-tong block) this in placed in a formicarium from 40*40*40. (this is not my Pheidole P. nest, in this formicarium i placed Myrmica rubra) the humidity is controlled by the gray tube you see an the right side of the picture.

You don't need a thermostat but its handy, its control the temperature for you ;)

I'm glad to help, and i hope it's good info I'm giving you.

Make sure you cover up your formicarium, its not necessary if you use Glide material like "paraffin oil 10ml" but with Pheidole P. it's better that you do, they are masters in escaping ;)

:?: [glow=red]My QUESTION:[/glow] :?:

:cold: Does Pheidole pallidula obligatorily has to hibernat? (South European Species ?)
is it suficient lowering to 18º C? ...for how long?

In http://www.antstore.net/shop/product_info.php/products_id/1161/cPath/54_107/South-European-Species/colonie--Pheidole-pallidula it says: " temperature: Non-sensitive - could hibernate in unheated rooms. " ...it "COULD" means it "DOESN'T HAVE TO"? :-k
