First i have put "Seramis Granulat 200g" (here at antstore) at the bottom and then i have placed my Y-tong nest on it (made it my self from a y-tong block) this in placed in a formicarium from 40*40*40. (this is not my Pheidole P. nest, in this formicarium i placed Myrmica rubra) the humidity is controlled by the gray tube you see an the right side of the picture.

You don't need a thermostat but its handy, its control the temperature for you

In http://www.antstore.net/shop/product_info.php/products_id/1161/cPath/54_107/South-European-Species/colonie--Pheidole-pallidula it says: " temperature: Non-sensitive - could hibernate in unheated rooms. " ...it "COULD" means it "DOESN'T HAVE TO"?
