i'm new to the whole ant world i would LOVE to start up a strong colonie of myrmica rubra (few queens) and i'me wondering if it would be possible to carve a good ant nest from Ytong into a model building like a piramid, tempel or even an roman colloseum!
if its made of 2 diffrent parts (the lower one containing lots of chaimbers and tunnels) and the upper one the model with entrance and exit, in the middle maybe a hollow space with cotton for moist connected to a tube and paint the outside with a thic layer of clay (so the moist stays in longer)???
also most ytong nest i see here have curved tunnels and round chaimbers is that nessesairy? or could i make em square?
i could add a drawing if u dont understand me...
and last but not least i could find anywhere how much moist is enough ? ime afraid to go either to much or to little for the ytong nest?..
advise or suggestions are always welcome
Thanx in advance
and please forgive my bad english
Olly
