nice, so are you saying that you camponotus ligniperda are out of hibernation? If so then I might slowly wake my little girls (ants) up from their beaty slumber...
(IM bored so thats why im taking lil wierd lol) :geek:

it depends when you put them into hibernation but if you wake them up now they should be fine

Lol, i think i take my ants outta hibernation in march/april (depends when the nature ants wake up, but i think we will be having a winter some day here this year too, it will be snowy until those march/april) because i put the ants to hibernation at late November (yeah, i shoulve put them to sleep in October, but what can you do with temperatures like 12´C).
Thats a bad thing about finland, ants sleep a bit longer (20-40% longer than central €pean species)

Well i think it depends on where ur ants come from.. mine come from slovakia.. where at the mo its still very cold.. so waking them would not be a good idea at all.. i plan on leaving mine to at least the end of feb.

not sure where mine are from ,i think germany as i got them from antstore,also i am thinking of waking them up in the next few days

I have decided to let them hibernate till my b day (17 feb) which is kind of middle of feb.

mine have been asleep for about 3 and a half months in a fridge,time to wake them up and see if they are still alive :D

Mine were awake when I recieved them , they had been in hibernatin before they were sent ; but they didnt want to go back in lol..

Today I have counted 7 eggs :D

Nice, well most peoples C.Ligniperda are going out of hibernation so i might start to wake them up lot mroe earlier then mid feb...

they should be ok with that amount of hibernation (correct me if im wrong),i would give them a long hibernation at the end of this year though.has anyone else woke theres up yet ??
