hello, sorry to read u lost the first queen, but now with the second having eggs, you MUST leave her in peace, refrain from looking at her, youl only stress her out, leave her dark and warm, this is the most important part getting your first workers to live......once they arrive they will look after her, right now shes looking after herself, which she is capable of, providing you give her peace......

good luck this time.

yeah i'm trying to do that with my camponotus ligniperda
they are in a test-tube wraped in that red plastic stuff so they can not see me but i can see them and the end with the water behind the cotton wool is covered by sand and test-tube is in a ice cream tub and i give them food there. they have alot of eggs and two workers. one worker died about a week ago but i think it was due to me being a bit impatient :( but other wise they seem fine.

You know Camponotus ligniperda are a very slow growing species. Its good there is a lot of brood, hopfully it will hatch before the other workers dies. Good luck.
