I know them. (don't have them) and it is true that you can keep them in the same farm with another species (didn't try it myself).
But they are very small and only (about)200 workers in a colony is not much.

I don't know how would this work out. Ants on general don't like each other very much. And they don't like competition too. In this case the coexistence in the same basin is possible because Temnothorax are very small and they manage to live in smaller places then bigger ants. However, they are known to live off bigger ants brood. Stealing it from underground and using it as a food. You could say they are sort of parasites.
I've never found on a forum a post or a topic where this kind of coexsistence would be described. But maybe I just didn't look hard enough.

They mostly live in the ground but you can find them in acorn sometimes. But you have to be lucky. Really lucky. A friend of mine found them once like this. He still keeps them.

Hello sithmaster

I have seen a few pictures of Temnothorax nylanderi living in a y-tong nest, so you could keep them in that

heres a link

thanks sced
there are some good pics i think that ytong would be good for this species as they dont need a lot of space as they wont get no bigger than about 200 ants :)
