Hey
I have 1 yellow meadow ant queen with no workers
I need her to start making workings.
How do i start?
She has been living in a test tube in my bathroom all Winter temp. about 18 degrads.
I tryed to offer her flys and sugar but i have no idea if she takes anything, does not seem so.

What is the easyest habitat to keep one queen in so it is easy to give her food?
In the test tube the sugar keeps pooring out of the tiny cup i made for it...not easy to clean
I hope someone can help me please, i have no idea what to do.

Lasius flavus should be in dormancy right now, I don't know if its maybe too late now though.

I don't think the queen needs proteinfood (and sugar), she can lay eggs and raise brood in spring without that

my suggestion would be to remove everything from the tube you put in there (the cup) and put her in a dark cold place like your garage or basement (~5 °C)
and wait till the end of march without disturbing her too often
