What is the difference between the normal basins and the alpha basins?

The production is somewhat different. The Alpha Ants basin is more of a 45 ° edge. By contrast the edge of the Antstore basin slightly arched. Also, the bonding is somewhat different. Personally I find the Antstore basin something better.

I'm not sure what this means, is it just that the glass is joined together in a different way? Seem like a bit of an unnecessary product if that is the only difference (and only 90c in price difference). Also the Alpha basins have their own type of lid too, whats the difference in the lids?

Asked the same question to Antstore in the German "product question"-forum.

Reply from uta (roughly translated): The Alpha Ants products are produced in another country, while the Antstore basins are produced directly by Antstore. The quality of the Antstore basins is slightly better and the glass is a little different in material, bonding & edge grinding.

As from my personal experience (bought the Alpha Ants Starter Set C), I recommend to buy the Antstore basins. Faced some trouble with the farm slightly leaking and the edge grinding of the basin has some (minor) flaws. Yet have to admit that Antstore offered replacement without questioning!

ok, thanks. I guess if there was more of a price difference, it would be more worth the drop in quality.

But since I am only using these for foragin gand no water or substrate will go into them, it might be worth getting the alpha

That first quote was from my post, I yook it that Antstore own stuff is better and im pleased that i got my ant store tank in the end!

The differences between Alpha Ant and ANTSTORE basins is:
ANTSTORE is made in our local workshop with a very good quality in glass and size and
Alpha Ants is made in Asia with a normal quality in tolerances and silicon bonding.
