my Camponotus ligniperda queen is acting strange it can't get its self upright when its upside down doesn't respond when i blow it or tap the testube ive put it in another testube now to keep an eye on it and its just sitting there curled up opening an closing its mouth
A similar thing happened to my Camponotus ligniperda queen when I just took her out of hibernation. She hardly moved and wouldn't respond to heat or food then died.
she's still alive and is moving a bit more than before she's really thin i don't think she's had food in a while even though the workers are full up my Tetramorium caespitum queen is also the same after her only worker died during hibernation lucky all my other ants are doing fine and laying loads of eggs
im sorry to say mate but i think id put her out of her misery. I doubt very very much she will regain strengh now, mine certainly didnt. Horrible to see a queen dying like that.
ive got my new queen now and im tyring to feed her workers as they seem really thin compared to mine. my attempt to merge the colony's has also failed but im not giving up
ok the queens defiantly dead now and i think im getting somewhere with merging the colony's as i think one of the workers from my old colony feed the new queen
