Dear Sir,
I was wondering if you could guide me or help me in my queries.
I am a student in digital arts and I have created a piece which involve the used of ANTS.
For the piece, I need to find the type of blue gel, which most ant farms for kids used Hyperlinks sind nur für registrierte Nutzer sichtbar
But I only need the gel (not the ant farms which most places send with them!)
I need some kind of transparent gel for the art piece, this is for an exhibition that will only last 1 week.
After this my ants will go back to their normal ant farms, which are made of more suitable and natural grounds.

If somebody had any ideas how I could make some gel non-toxic or find a suitable solution just the time of the exhibition, I would be very grateful.
Please help I am desperate!!! To find some solution as my final piece must be ready soon.

Dear Crownpied,

this is a "ager ager" Gel, you can make it self.
The ager, you can buy it in a shop for Lab need.

hello Martin,
thank for the quick relied.
yesi have so far realised that they used algar gel,but i reads they used also some nutrients and minerals too etc..

what i will do is experiment with 3 different types which can be mixed togethers, all can be mixed with the algar, would like to see which one is the best, this is the name of the products:

1-AGAR - Laboratory grade refined powder
2-PEPTONE - Laboratory grade
3-GLUCOSE ANHYDROUS (DEXTROSE) Laboratory grade

1-i will try the algar on his own and see how the ants are doing?.
2-algar+peptone
3-algar+glucose

hopefully not of those mixtures won`t kill my ants?
