high i just got a Lasius niger colony and i was wondering in the feeding bay is it best to put cotton wool thats bin put under a tap or put like a bottle cap with water in? i thought the cotton wool method would be best cos they wouldn't drowned but would they be able to drink from it? and btw way i can`t find any flys cos its just past winter so would chicken do from cat food?

For smaller ants and small conlonies where i dont want to risk loosing a worker i do use cotton wool in a bottle cap. You cant find flys right now but thats not a problem because your ants are in hibernation, too. If you allready put them back into a warm place then you are at least one month to early.

ok well they got delivered to me at this time n placed them in the ant world and there diggin and verry active so gues im erlie but thats ok personaly long as they dont die tomorrow from lack of water or food. so gues its gonna have to be bit of cat food or somthin while nxt week when the can of crickets come lmao ?

Live crickets are a billion times better than the can ones. You can get them cheap too.. just google them As for the water.. if your using a farm already get yaself a small bird feeder.. prob be able to get one from the same place as the crickets

how is the water gel what you can buy or the water cystels , think i might just get pack of them n some crickets n am sourted n then no one drownds lol

they cannot drown in a bird feeder... you place cotton wool inside the feeder part.
