Pics of My New Formicarium

The ants that will live in this farm are going to be so lucky. ;) Can't wait to see some movement in there. ;)

Sorry for not updating my progress with the formicarium, unfortunately nothing ever came to fruition so I neglected to update. I was never able to capture a fertile queen and US laws prevent me from importing any ants; you guys across the pond are very fortunate to have access to so many cool species (I'm very envious). The formicarium sat empty for about 6 months before I decided to break it down... very disappointing. It could have been a pretty sweet set up.

Anyway, heres the same tank as it stands today:

I still have intentions of keeping a formicarium -when the opportunity presents itself to do so, I'll be sure to share the experience.

Nice! I love all types of vivarium ... I think it is the best way to keep exotic ants. One time , I would to have only terariums like this , no ytong nests or tubes :P hehe , I have now Polyrhachis sp. in terarium (no plants yet) , and they are building new nest , nice to see :)

Nice to hear from you again CapitalO. Great setup you have there, but i think its hard to keep ants in there, difficult to feed them without them escaping al the time.
