Heading to South America

Beitragvon miszt » 27. Aug 2008 10:12

Well I\'m finally going to do it!

My albums nearly finished, and the plan is, within 3 months of release, I\'m gona sell everything i have, n bugger off to South America for as long as i can, 6 months, a year? who knows! will spend my time working on a nature reserve in Venezula, then off to see the Lost Cities of the Inca's in Peru, woooo! :D will also be collecting lots of Queens and Colonies, my email address is below, drop me an email if you'd like to be kept updated of what I have as I will probly not have much chance to post up on here any I have for sale 8)

Well obviously I cant take my ants with me, so my colonies will be sold off, I\'m expecting to leave the UK in Jan, so will be selling my colonies in October, consisting of...and i'd like you guys to have first pick before i put them up 'officially'

Pachycondyla apicalis, approx ~150 workers, including nest/heater/fans/electric escape prevention - £250 (collection only, if you want them posted, it will be the same price sent 24 courier, but without the tank etc, UK delivery only)

Camponotus herc, 2 queen, ~20 workers, in ytong - £35

P Dives, ~ 200 workers in ceramic tree trunk, large tank, insecure lid (i currently keep it secure with tape) - £50

Camponotus ligniperda, ~15 workers, 2 majors - £25

Formica lusatica, ~40 workers, 2 queens, in large farm - £50

Messor barbarus, ~20 workers - £30

Formica rufibarbis, ~5 workers - £20 (I am waiting to hear back form the UK breeding program, so these may not be available)

Lasius niger, ~300 workers, in picture frame farm - £20

Tetramorium spec, 5 queens with brood and 2-5 workers - £10 each

Lasius flavus Queen and brood, 1-5 workers - £5

Lasius niger Queen and brood, 1-5 workers - £5

Be quick, i've sold half my colonies already

Plus a few more I will add later, obviously by the time I leave, the numbers in the colonies will have gone up, email me john@formicopedia.com for pics and any questions

Dude, that is some radical change!

Do you already "abla espanol"? ;) Well, I wish you good luck and I'm sure we'll continue to see lots of your posts here about interesting South American ant species. Man! I think you'll become one of the main queen supliers. :D

Oh, and while you are there, save the rainforest!!! ;)

John

Hope you have good trip and looking forward some interesting stories on your return.
You will be in the backyard of some very interesting species from Solenopsis, Army ants, leaf cutters etc etc.

I take it that the Y-tong we discussed is now off the menu?

Regards

Blimey what an extraodinaraly amazing opertunity you have ahead, not least to be working on a nature reserve, and the lost cities of the inca's in peru "WOOO" indeed, i wish you all the luck in the world, and also the best of health on yuor travels, i find myself changing a distinct shade of green i must admitt  .

your very lucky to be able to achieve this sort of expediton, its something many of us dream about but rarely get to experience, and like the others i would very much like to keep a contact with you,

all the best Miszt
