Hey guys.. just wondering if any of you keep Pheidole pallidula in a ytong.. and if so.. do they put the eggs up against the glass like they have in my pic??
Also.. how long do u think its gonna take me to start gettin soilders again?

All my ants put eggs aginst the glass at some point

Probly about 50-100 workers you will start to see smaller majors appearing, keep them well fed

Yes mine do it to. I think the glass heats up from the out side temperature and they place there brood against it for the heating.

also the ytong will absorb some of the water but the glass will not, so good for moisture too i think

I was going to suggest the opposite ratgreen lol

also the glass is a much 'cleaner' surface

well they aint chewed through mine yet... not that i care as its in a tank.

In deed, they can chew through it. But Steve is prepared for it. So than there is nothing to worry about.
It could take a few months/years before they chew completely trough it, depending on the space they have and temperature in the nest or humidity.
