1. I have order a Messor barbarus queen ant an d are wondering if anybody have any pictures of a working aquarium for this kind of ant.

2. What sholud i do with the ant when it arrived?
I men sholud i take it out of the box anf put it in the aquarium?

and i think u should just put the tube in the aquarium(when its ready) and let her get out when she wants to.
I think the main idea is to keep the nest moist and dark,but I'm just a beginner.Mayby U shold order a ready nest,that would make it easy.

Thanks for the links what kind of ants do you have?
On the pictures there they dont have any sand or dirt is this the correct way?

BTW I will put a webcam on my website skene.nu (swedish) where you can see the aquarium live.

I have the impression that u could/should mix sand and loam(clay?),it will be more stabil and keep the moisture.
I think u can get siporex in sweden,it makes beautuful farms and i think it would be low maintanens because u could fill the bottom of your aquarium with water and the siporex will suck up,and so keep the nest nice and moist,or thats what I've gatherd...
Actualy,i dont have a antfarm,I'm getting a queen soon tough.
All this info is from reading the forum here and googleling the web
Theres some fine pro advise here,you could use the "search forum" if you dont have time or what ever to spend time reding th forum extensivly

My Messor barbarus ant have arrived by mail today (thanks ANTSTORE for the fast delivery) an are wondering if i should take out the cotton in the tube that are blocking the ants way out? And is there any food in the tube, if yes then how long can she live on it?

If the ants possess enough water and food, it is no problem.
