^^ ill post some more pics tom when the majority of the labour is done, when people are crafting their ytong what do they use?

Im just using a good old fashioned hammer and small chisel are there any recommended tools ?

yer a dremmel with a high speed cutting/routing tool works a treat.

I use a chisel.. no hammer.. i pull it across.. saves loads of time

I used a dremel too, and it only took me like 5 minutes per nest to carve.. Also its a lot smoother.

i have Myrmica rubra ants and they walk right over it

This is strange as i have 2 myrmica colonys.. the one walks over vaseline and the other goes nowhere near it.

All my colonies will walk across vaseline. I only use it on the lids to make them more airtight. My rubra can't cross PFTE but it needs to be applied regularly, as their nest is moist it's gets a lot of condensation.
