Well today is the day. Came home from work to find hundreds of queens all over my drive! Lasius niger and Flavus. I captured like 20 of each. If anyone wants one let me know and i'll send it out to you free of charge. Also, i put them into glasses cos i dont have my test tubes till thursday.....will they be ok till then? shall i keep them dark and cold?

They don't have to be kept in darkness, but they need a water source and high moisture.

put a piece of damp cotton wool in, they should be fine, however be careful if they start laying eggs, can be hard to move them into a test tube

theres a trick to it tho, use a tiny piece of damp (not wet!) cotton wool to 'mop' the eggs up, then putthem in the test tube with the queen she'll do the rest when she finds them
