You need 4x sand, 2x loam and 1x potter's clay granulate for the antfarm deluxe.

that's what i thought. does it mean you need 4 pots, 2 of sand + 2 of loam? I'm not sure if this will help but i am getting myrmica rubra ants

Dear Anty,

no, I mean 4 pots sand, 2 pots loam an 1 pots potter's clay granulate. It is only one recommendation. We made the experience now that a mixture 1:1 is'nt so favorable nevertheless. The mixture becomes too firm.

i ordered my antfarm and it arrived today. I ordered the 4 sand 2 loam and 1 potters clay but only the potters clay 2 sand and 1 loam fitted in. i have followed your advice and it won't work. The farm is 3/4 full but i still have 3 pots left????

have you compressed the snad, loam mix?

i does help to compress it slightly as when water is soaked through it, it shrinks, if not compressed it will cause some problems...

Dont over compress it, and make sure that it does not warp the plastic. hope this helps!!

Hi Anty!

Yes, you have to compress it a little and in the future you must sometimes replace some of the mixture. You will need it at many times! Believe me.
