Depends on the species but here you can find it from Lasius niger

Thankx. I keep my young queen in a very dark space, so i can't look at her every day, but on the third day i had her, i found eggs. She is a common black garden ant here. I don't know the exact species. But it depends on happy she is.

I'm guessing she is a Camponotus species (just a wild guess). Yes leave her on there own a few days until the first workers hatch. Than you can start feeding them.

I don't think she is of the Camponotus species because her nest mates are in the soil, and she is somewhat smaller. i don't know, but great guess better then what i would make. I check in on her every three days, and usually during dusk.

Camponotus vary in size massivly, and they also nest in soil, however I'm in the US it could be any number of 'common black ant' lol

He means Brachymyrmex patagonicus and not Myrmecia

Brachymyrmex patagonicus is a very small species .. the queen should be around 4 or 5mm ... workers 1-2mm ...

But the picture of Brachymyrmex patagonicus has some similarities to Lasius.
In Germany we would refer to Lasius as common black garden ant. But in the states you also have some Lasius specie. Maybe you should search the web for some pictures of Lasius queens ...

I don't know. I looked up lasius species, and the closest i found was the Lasius neoniger. The workers looked kinda the same. I would take a picture of the queen, but i do not wish to disturb her. I took some quick photos. I know they aren't the best, but I have bugged her too much lately.

Im sorry for the quality of the photo. I don't want to disturb anymore for a while. really, I thought Camponotus species lived in wood and where much bigger.

Camponotus queens have also larger head. I think it is very probable it's Lasius neoniger.
