she should do, Tetra are not hard to rear from queen, maybe give her a couple of fruit flys, cover her up and leave her alone for at least the next 5-7 days

check she is not gettin to hot or cold, also that the tempreture is fairly stable where she is, also check the moisture levels, is it to dry or to wet in the test tube? Often moisture droplets will form if there are constant tempreture changes, this can easily drown brood

how do you know the tempreture is stable, have you monitored it? ur not being very cooperative considering I'm trying to help u here :P unless your willing to give a little bit of information, theres really not much i can suggest to help...

rooms in houses very rarly stay at a stable tempreture, infact the diffrence can be as much as 15-35C, and when a colony does not have the oppertunity to move to a cooler or warmer area (for eg wen in a test tube), this can lead to big problems

I'd definitly get a thermometer, its an essential tool for ant keeping, even european species, get yourself one with min/max temps aswell, that will give you an idea of the temp flux, any small draft or water pipe in the wall can cause big local changes in temp, slow temp changes, for eg day to night are not a big problem, its big changes rapidly you need to worry about, or if the temp goes over 30C, even for a short time, this can also cause problems
