Which One I Shall Pick?

Help to the newbie

Beitragvon ashhad1 » 29. Jun 2008 11:23

I have mine at room temp so 25C - 26C
im not sure if thats long but normally lasius niger grow very quick from egg to worker unlike camponotus ligniperda (i have both species)
But i think for lasius niger form egg to worker takes around a month or so (30 days) someone correct me please if im wrong.

i don't have a thermo stat for my ants yet got to get on atm i think there tempature is around 23C and 42 days is the norm for lasius niger but can be faster if there kept warmer and they should produce more eggs as well

The thing is for lasius niger its not criticaly important to have a certain temperature, thats why i dont have a thermostat for mine either lol
Mine grow slower to be honest because the nest is on the window bank thing so it gets cold at night and at day if its not warm it doesnt reach 25C.

http://www.antstore.net/viewtopic.php?t ... +to+worker

There you can find how long it takes for Lasius niger to hatch from egg to worker.

There is good information at the site here, also a very nice search engine. Don't be afraid to use it. ;)
