Which One I Shall Pick?

Beitragvon FredeP » 28. Jun 2008 17:32

Hello. :D

I have a question, and it's:
I have 2 Lasius Niger colonys, and they have just 10-20 worker.
But one of them have more worker in the other, but the queen is not so big, and in the other colony the queen is a little bit bigger than the other, but haven't so many ant. And I have one terrarium, so which one shall I pick?
Hope some one can help.
They have almost the same number of brood.
plz help, and thx(:

well u can put 1 colony of ur picking in the terrarium and leave the other one in the test tube, as lasius niger can live alone in a test tube quite some time, Which mean that later u can sell the other colony or wait until u buy another terrarium

Putting them back to nature is also a very good idea but make sure that lasius niger do live in ur area which i think should do but still setting alien species free into nature is very bad.

just randomly pick one and put it into the terrarium it doesn't matter which one has the most workers or the size of the queen these are just natural variance

if its not big because its eaten more food then its just the genes try giving her more food and putting her somewhere a bit warmer than the smaller queen then after a while the big queen should have more workers than the smaller one
