does anyone no what this is?(don't say it's a beatle. LOL)
there were hundreads of them coming out of the ground has anyone else had them flying around in england around 20:30-21:00 Kent.
btw Myrmica rubra seem to love em.

aint got a clue... dont do beetles.. good idea to feed them to ur ants tho.. make sure u put them in some boiling water first tho.

and remember to let it cool after other wise you might kill your ants

lol u only put it in the water for like 3 seconds.. by the time u put it in with ur ants it WILL be cool lol

LOL the golden shine only comes from the light of the phone, really they're just a dull brown.

I do boil food if it is for a non native ant but if the ants are native and the food is native I don't boil it.

I think it is a Cockchafer Melolontha melolontha. How big is it?

they are approx 1.5-20. cm and have a very painful sting!

Um, beatles cannot sting. The size sound about right. Look up the name I posted and see if it matches your beatle.

I also think it is a cockchafer. You don't see them often here in Belgium. They are very nice beatles.

I think it also it is small Amphimallon solstitialis ... they are maybe nice , but their larvae killing all my flowers in garden (eating flower´s roots)
