@ Andrew
well ur lucky u were successful with digging up a queen, but as u said mostly u end up killing the whole colony and getting nothing.
I didnt know that across states its also illegal to send ants, i only thought from a dif country it be illegal.

to: spore: kansas is smack dab in the middle of united states of america, so yeah in north america.

to: ashhad1: i was lucky, i keep keep one mature nest to bredd more. because of ants possibly destroying the local ecosystem.

You should know what is gypsum, right? It is not that "exotic" material like breeze blocks?? I think you guys in US call it plaster.

Some of the improvements you suggested.

This is the jar i used.

The finished product

I connected two pipes together. I cut a hole in the tank, and squeezed the pipe into it. The pipe that connected to the container had to be taped, for the hole was far too small.

I added a little dirt to the bottom and a piece of wood so the ants can get up into the tunnel. I am sorta worried that they would not find their way back.

I water the ground every time it rains. To make sure their is humidity in there I but the lid on to keep the moisture in. I try the best I can with the resources around me. i bought an antfarm from Uncle Milton, but it was really small, and small ants could easily escape from it.
