Ants for Ant World?

Beitragvon armyoforigin » 11. Jun 2008 02:44

:?: My very first ant colony died a while ago.
They basically had a very rough postal journey, survived about a week then died. =(

My poor Myrmica scabrinodis.

The thing is now I have a spare Ant World :!:

And I was wondering what you all thought I should maybe put in it in the way of ants!

They would of course have to be rather small ants, the largest I have ever heard of being kept in an Ant World was some Formica fusca!

These set ups are doing very well for my Lasius niger and Pheidole pallidula... (I LOVE MY PHEIDOLES :D )

ANY help would be appreciated!

Just say some 'cool' ants if you want!

But please keep in mind that I cannot go about getting exotic ants that cost a fortune! (No matter how much I want to =[ )

Thank you all in advance for your advice/tips/comments :D

Myrmica rubra would do well in one of those farms, although they would quickly out grow it with any more than 1 queen

Yes they seem like a good species! :-)
They seem to be summed up as: Small, mean, and downright scary!

=)

They are definitely a possibility, especially since stinging ants appeal to me =]

Though I was kid of hoping more for some Tetramoriums (But antstore do not have them in stock even if I had the money)

Thank you for the response!
And as I say, definitely a possibility! ;-)
