i must admit i dont even tell anyone i keep ants as the word 'nerd' would probably become my name, almost everyone on this forum doesnt seem nerdy at all, also ,'what pets do you have' 'a dog,a budgie,fish, and ants' doesnt sound too normal, but hey we all are different right

Lol, I have only ever told my closest of friends that I keep insects in my room, well, even then it was only because it became difficult to hide it from them. My friends simply don't have the maturity and understanding to know about it and just let it be .

r yh kno wot u mean lol, u hav u'r m8's n stuff round it gets well hard...i try 2 say sh!t like my room is 2 much of a mess at the mo n stuffso we we dont go in dere...but it's gets real differcult .....once the 1 ''m8'' that knew i kepted ants told his m8 n he told his n so on....b4 long it woz brought up n 1 ov my lessons at skool...i woz like fuc fuc wot am i gonna say........r i woz lik so fuced up lol.....lucky i made the boi sayin it in da lesson sound dumb n real wierd 4 sayin it....so nowdays i just batter him n batter him.....thank god i handle the situation so that no1 kno's so it all still gd....

i must say, Fleur its refreshing to see a female ant enthusiast..... and a very pretty one at that.....

It's funny because when people first see/meet me, they always presume I'm this typicall "I only care about looks and partying"-girl. While actually I hardly ever go out, and have these weird non-girly interest like piercings (have 6), childrens toys (tamagotchi's, furbys), gaming (Fable), poker and computers. I'm not what I seem I guess

I do tell quite a few people about my ants,including most of my workmates and at first they said whats so good about an ant.But when you tell them what they can do and show them photo,s you can see their interest suddenly rise,they have all seen a lasius niger walking about but when they see a photo of a messor barbarus with huge jaws,they get quite impreesed and ask a lot more questions.At work they call me antman,but about 6 of them have asked me to rig them up with a farm.I think if you take time to tell them things instead of "i keep ants"people start to get a lot more interested in them.Of course you still get the odd one who will say stamp on the buggers but thats their loss.

I'm happy to show my ants to friends, mine live above ground so there's always lots going on.

There's not a lot to talk about in 'real life', no one else around me keeps ants! But I'm happy to explain how I stop them escaping and how I feed them and everything, plus my website has live images.

lol talking about ants at school ;P quite a few people know I keep them sometimes I say yes or no :p some dont really care some people do ask me about them though lol...
