No, this isn´t Lasius niger, but maybe someLasius specie... You didn´t wrote how did you get her, when and from who or where. You also didn´t write her size, so how we can identificate more than just sp....?! I m not experienced in this, but Tapinoma maybe?? :P

No, never is this Tapinoma. It could be Serviformica or Lasius sp.
Due to its clear blackness, it should be Serviformica, but on the other hand, it looks more like Lasius on the first picture.
Give us more pics and info please.

I find her last year in may 2007. She eat his first broad and now she has larve. Her size is abaut 13 mm. Here is another photo.

It is Serviformica, I think. This behavoiur- eating of own brood, is tipical for Serviformica´s , they are ,,stupid". I have small experience with them, and for example, they aren´t making batches from eggs, just leave eggs on the floor of the tube.. And they cleaned them singly:D:D:D

Yes, i think it's a Serviformica too . The morphology of petiol - narrow and almost united to the abdomen - is tipical of the genus Formica.

more precisely, I think that she is a Formica (Serviformica) fusca. I notice above from the wide eyes...

I´d also say it is some formica. Good luck with her tho, I have bad experience with this specie. Queen didn´t succede in raising colony. She died eventualy.

I'd say it is Formica fusca, or Formica lemani. The last one lives mostly in mountainous areas.

Yes I believe it is a Formica aswell, although they are very similar, its hard to tell with those pictures, pics of the workers would confirm either way look forward to seeing your colony progress
