Okay now i know where we talking about, that are in deed birds. Big birds. You keep them, kill them and sell the meat ?

:D:D No. We breed them now, we will keep small ostriches from eggs... We bought 5 birds. It isn´t possible to know if is small ostrich male or female... So we waited to their adult, and there was some problems... When they grow up, there was one dominant female and dominant male. We had 3 females and 2 males. The second one was a bit dominant, but not so much as the first rooster. Also we decided to kill him, because he fought the others, and also we wanted just one male. So we killed him. But there was other one, smallest female and she did more problems than first rooster! It was needed to get peace in their group, because if the group wont construct right hierarchy to their adult, it wont able to breeding them... We have now male and 2 females, it´s typical breeding group, and there are no problems

But their meat is delicious, from one foot like you saw on picture on my link, is about 20 kilograms of high quality meat! In my country is 1kg of ostrich meat sold by 15euros in exchange to my money....

Although I apreciate yuo are not an english speaking young man, you really could think a little bit about how to explain such matters as this, you could have stated that you humainly destroyed this bird, it would have sounded much less shocking, the image your descritpion produced (especailly after the photos related to this post) was very upsetting to me, I do not usually voice my concerns of this nature, but I found this particular post quite distressing and rather calous sounding.

I am not evoking an argument here with you, and I am aware you did not set out to offend any one, so please do not take it that way more friendly advise on how to explain such matters, I am quite sure there are other poeple that could find this upsetting.

Now I see, you realy have true, Darradar. My english isn´t very good, and so I haven´t so many words to explain this things better... It´s really looking morbid, but it was needfullness to kill this two prolematic ostriches, and also we had 2 of them on meat, but now we just breeding. I didnň t want to explain it so morbid, in last posts, it just that we keep them a bit on meat, and for me it is normal think to know about killing the animals for meat. We aren´t ostrich farm, and we don´t breed them for killing and selling meat. I think I can understand you, you mean that I m rudeness, and now I see yes I´m. but I feel other animals like other spirit being with aura and allthinks like humans have, and my family love animals. Lo of people in my school don´t like me and tels that my family is strange, but if you don´t understand how we can be so stupid to kill animal just for meat, I think stupid you(just opinion, nothink personal). Human is herbicarnivorous and i agre it.
If you think that the posting the pics and writting just ,,we killed him" with no decency, yes I see it was For me is just normal to see things like bodies and others, my parent´s are vets and I´m helping them with operations and things.. so I didn´t understand than the posting of pics and writting ,,kill" will indecent, sorry from my terible mistake and sorry from my bad english :(

I love animals to (i also like meat) but darradar is right, it could be a bit of shocking (the picture) but i see you deleted it so i think we can end that discussion.
My dad keeps cows and sometimes he kills one for the meat, i also think it is hard but the meat is so nice. (sorry Darradar) We try to do this in the best way. If you understand what i mean. It is nature, you need to kill an animal if you want to eat meat. (i'm just glad i don't have to do that)

About your English Messorus, i think you are doing a great job for a 14year old. And don't beat yourself up if people think you are strange, everybody thinks i'm strange because i keep ants.

yes indeed messorus, i fully understand what you mean, and your explination for yuor post, yuor english is indeed good, so i am glad we have sorted this out. And as for poeple thinking yuor strnge, well i dont agree with that, as with jimmy, my freinds think im strange for keeping ants too....

And Jimmy, no need to opolgise for liking and eating meat, i have no problem with that, i fully understand that most of the human race are meat eaters, i just dont really wanna read about it in this way..

he he :p i've had that problem. I was ashamed because it sounds stupid keeping ants..
But when some frends saw the ants and i explained to them what ants are and what they do. They saw the point :p .
But still ants are a bad subject to start a conversation with .

Lol, I have only ever told my closest of friends that I keep insects in my room, well, even then it was only because it became difficult to hide it from them. My friends simply don't have the maturity and understanding to know about it and just let it be .

I also didn't tell it to them.. But they where visiting me with a group of 3/4 and saw the nest.. Then i told them what it was.. And why i keep ants.
If you tell it with an underline witch says, i think it's strange 2; they won't laugh

Most people i tell think i'm wired but they are al interested in my ants if they come over.

I showing my ants only when are formicarium very clean and nice ants inside. To make ants interested ,you must have clean formicariums , then friends can see , it is nice hobby ... if is formicarium dirty and ants inside are a half-dead , it is not good = friends wouldnt come again to your home ... that same with girls. I must show first my girl like ants cannot escape from formicarium ... if ants running across room , it is bad ... and for girls I getting nice plants into terarium and getting flovers on/next to formicarium

@ Fleur: i see you like Poker. It is a nice game to play with your friend, we play it often to. Most of the time just for fun. (with a low budget) Do you just play it with friends ore in casino's as well ?
