Ok take a look at mine.. sorry its not that good.. but all of mine look roughly the same size.. how can i determine which is the queen ??

hmm I have to say, Paty may be right there, they do all have large Thorax, and all seem to be the same size lol

however C sub are monogyn arent they? so it would be a bit strange...unless they are unfertilzed queens that have been collected with a fertlized queen...

you may have a massacre on your hands Steve, if it turns out they are all fertlized and laying...

infact it may even be worth splitting them up now, into seperate test tubes, just to be on the safe side, have you got many eggs yet?

Yes steve, i also think Paty is right. They all look as queens. (on this picture)
Are there eggs in the tube ? Can you see which ants is laying them ? and are the other ants taking care of here. If they don't split them up, like miszt said.

As you can see there is a huge difference between the workers and queen.

Guys I also bought a ytong block and will be making my first ytong nest for my ants eva!
Anyway Im doing this on the weekend so il post some pics of my finished ytong. Wish me luck
