Hey guys,
Just a thought... If you had 2 tanks.. 1 inside the other.. and u filled the outer tank with water.. and placed a heater in it.. and kept the water at say 30 degrees.. would that keep the other tank warm.. and also the humidty high???

I guess it´s doable just that your view to the inside the second tank will be obstructed and deformed in some way. But maybe that is not important.

It is possible, you do not need to fill the first tank until the top. I also have seen pictures of it, not here i think, hold on...

LOL jimmy thats where i got the idea... However i was thiking a larger scale.. The tank as i said would be for Weaver ants

hehe, yes i think it is possible in a larger setup. You probably need a bigger heater. The only downside i can think off, if you need to move the farm it would be difficult. If you don't need to move it. (never ) Than it would be a perfect setup.

Good idea with flaws as pointed out by Jimmy lol. I myself want an exotic ant farm, just a matter of funds and maintaining the right living conditions.

Polycharis Weaver ants dont need high levels of humidity like you would get with this setup Steve, this setup would be a bit of a waste for them tbh, and also harder to maintain, very high levels of humidity like that take allot of practice to keep stable, it would work well for Oce weavers certainly, or pherhaps paper-nest making ants, and as was said, for leaf cutters, but Polycharis like it a bit drier
