i know that is my main intrest messorus for this topic  trying out new food for my ants(other insects) and finding smaller insects for my smaller species of ant like my new flavus colony-phiodole pallidula cos they are not so good (my expirence) at killing there own food(maybe size of them dosent help lol) anyway basically for my non aggresive colonies/smaller colonynies(size) fruit fly will be used for thse sort of ones. but other insects aswell of course lol :thumright:

Its not the size of ant that matters what you need to feed them, its the size of colony that important.
I give my young queens and very small colonies fruit fly's. If the colony gets bigger i use bigger insects.

i guess that's a good logiacal way aswell jimmyve, but with my ants i have it depends on there aggression etc. but both ways are quite simerlair thing really. as with me its the way, u suggested or the one i said about. sort of both i guess(if u understand wot i mean) :P
