:D This ants aren ´t for beginers, I think, Crematogaster scuterallis is beter for you, than these ants... Lol
They usually build their nest, and keepers are getting only adult colonies, I think...

these ants are really hard to keep. if they escape your in alot of trouble, my friend had some which escaped easily and caused a massive problem in his house and were extremely hard to get rid of. i seriously wouldnt recomend them.

Hello Bigbibble,

why you ask not before buy? For the carton bulding material use this species Humus or old soft dead wood.
For exsample: http://www.antstore.net/shop/product_in ... bt-2l.html
In the nature are the nests 2-5 meters high on the trees.
but a small tree / dead wood in the formicarium is possible too.
It is level 1 easy for keep (temperature, food etc.) but it is a higher risk class because they like dead soft wood.

@ Messorus: I think, Crematogaster scuterallis is not more easy to keep as Crematogaster rogenhoferi.

best regards
Martin :D

Tip for the next time: Find information BEFORE ordering - they are animals and deserve a decent treatment.

Hi Bigbibble and welcome,

Fist of all, they others are wright, best study the species before buy them. But that is to late now, so...
I would help you if i could but i do not have experience with this species.
Like Martin said, it is best to keep them in a humus brick, look at the link.
That would be a good nest for them.
If i'm not mistaken they are south European ants, so temperature would be about 20-30°c in summer 10-15°c in winter (2-4 months of hibernation) Feed them like all ants, insects and honey ore sugar/water.
I hope this helps you a bit.
