How big do you normally get? I'm in the US and was looking at this site:

Same here they are like my messor barbarus only they have stings and are red oh and bite ferociously apparently.

It's funny i think this is the 1st time Europeans have complained they can't get american ant species when all us guys here complain their species are too boring

Sorry about my statment before, i just said it, cause it's a intersting species of ants, for me at least. Has for the metter pharmacys of course. Cheers.

We can actually order red harvester ants in CA, but they don't come with a queen. Kinda useless

Kind of wen i went to one to buy needles to put water in the tube, they thought i was a cientist of course. I actually tried once to buy a queen harvester ant from the states but they told me that it was impossible for them to send one to europe, i only hope one european store some day can get some of that species queens.

I am sure some americans on the forum can send you a queen. At least you can import one in europe. So maybe make a thread and ask? I will stick to my messors barbarus for now though, but would also be interested.
