Help to the newbie

Lasius flavus

Beitragvon Kiam » 9. Jun 2007 13:07

When I was doing it I hit the dirt with a shovvel and dug up a Lasius flavus nest which I had no idea there was one in my garden and when I looked at it there was 2 huge cocoons I think they are they are atleast 4x the size of a normal worker lol is that they cocoon or someone elses? or could it fertilize into a queen one ? I also took some off the colony and was looking for the queen to but I dont know if I have it since I dont know how big the queen is and Its better to keep the colony then destory it completely :)

Or use the "edit" function. Please dont start picking up ants from the garden to sell them. Lasius flavus is not so rare that hyper woulndt be able to find them himself in his backyard. Also, i dont think its adequate to do this. If you want to, pass the queen on for free. Money aint worth half as much as a friendly gesture, and its nicer then asking for money from stuff the nature supplies everywhere for free.

I dug them up because the garden was getting redone so There whole colony would just die out so I though it should be good saving them :)
