Would that be good or would it be better if I bought 2 off them and made a tube to go through them or something ? And can the tube fit in the ytong ?

Hi Kiam,

I am sure you can buy Ytong and glas also in England.
This Ytong is very big for a starter colony. If you want so a big nest, fill some passages with sand, so they can dig them free.
A Ytong-Nest needs to stand in a Formicarium, so the ants can climb into it, or it needs a connection to an arena. In the Formicarium or Arena you can feed and give water.

Do your own ytong nest at home! That´s so much for money, by post. When you do it in your home, you coudn´t pay from the post...

Doing it your self is in deed much cheaper and you can experience making the nest from beginning till the end (when the ants move in it). It is not so difficult to do.

Is there some sort off difference between a myrmica rubra queen than an myrmica rubra worker I havent even seen the queen
I just got them in my antworld and I think they'll do good in there for the time being

So whats difference though I cant really tell in that are they bigger?

You can see on picture ,they are a bit bigger ,her size is ca 6-7mm and it is easy to see in group of workers ,so I dont know ,If you cannot see ant like that ,maybe she is dead now or she run away ...

Ive never seen her but Ive seen eggs/larvae/cocoons:P so I dont think that is possible lol and do they have black heads ? because I see some red ants with black heads and red heads and that lol

Whats size is yours colony? (number of workers) .Myrmica rubra is orange/brown/a bit black ant and queen is coloured like worker ,maybe more dark like workers ,but only bigger. When are there new eggs ,it is possible ,you have queen there.

It came with about 26 and I think I have 4 dead probably off old age I hope and I cant see the eggs atm because they've hid them in the ant world

How many would a colony off 22 lay eggs? one a day only ? I have fed them some sugar and there going down the tube to eat it and Im going to feed them an insect when I find one :d

Hehe ,nobody never wrote ,how many eggs can lay colony of some species. It is very discussable question ,because it all stay on queen. They must be good feed ,after that ,there must be good temperature and humidity and the last think is ,she must be in static period - period when queen laying eggs. In my colony ,what I had 3 months ago ,it was sometimes 5 eggs per day ,no more.
It is all what I can help you with this
