Then you have to make a lot of holes - or just replace the old one with new.

Looks good sith. But like Kale sad, maybe they will try to move to the tube. Maybe it is better to use an other tube.

i cant use another tube because it is glued in with the strongest stuff money an buy :( but i will just make a lot of small pin holes to let light in and the tube will be in sunlight for most of the day :)

;) Looks like you did all you can to not let them move into the tube.

But if they do, don't make a big deal of it. If the colony get bigger they can not stay in that tube. ;)

It just would be better to take the old tube off to be sure.

as i have said in previous posts its impossible to remove the tube now as i have glued it in and sealed it so it would break the tank to try and remove :)

Hi Deadmeat! Temnothorax nylanderi is small, red ant. I have some experience with this ants... I have young colony from queen, at the moment. These ants are usually living in shells of valley nuts or in old sprigs. I´m ususally founding them in sprigs of valley nut tree. I´m keeping them in my own set- up for Temnothorax species, or for young colonies. I keeped my first colony on iland, but they was swiming a lot...:-D

Sorry to bring up the tube issue again sithmaster676, but couldn't you cut the centre portion of the green tube out (still leaving 2 short lengths glued in place) and connect a clear tube using smaller diameter tube? Please ignore this suggestion if already thought of. :)

This is very small red ant with small black doing at his back. I have some experience with this ants... These ants are inhabitting the old shells from valley nuts or old sprigs. I´m founding colonies of these ants usually at the old spring of valley nut tree...
