Hi folks,
there is 13 days that my ants not get out the nest, in daylight i never see, in night probably they exit but im sure that not are carried on any insect, in the nest , inside the tube are many workers about 15, many cocoons and many larvas, queen seems to me be very healty, the bad notice is that the hibernation being approached and the test-tube going dry if I will hibernate my ants in this condition , without water, they dye for sure I think, some advice are being appreciated!

p.s.
I had placed one small T-tube with new water but actually there is no sign of interesting or transfer.

I think they will move if the old T-tube drys out. Indeed the hibernation is not for away so they are not very active right now.

Bad notice...after good hibernation...they come out since two week ago, because here in italy this winter was very hot... I come out slowly at the out hibernation temperature...but yesterday my queen is apparently dead..It is immobile no vital sign enough as antenass comunicate with workers or any other movement... the workers are good are 25-30 with some larvas...they rest in the original T-TUBE...one worker come out regulary and pick up insect and honey-mix at the inside of the nest i see that the worker try something like wash queen touch it or feed it...but queen do not everything...

and now what can I do??
what will happen I will slowly watch the end of my colony?

Any suggest will be appreciated...

Sorry to hear that.

If the queen is dead the colony will slowly die. The workers will not raise a new queen. If a new queen is introduced the workers will kill it.

So it means your colony will last for a while and die away.
Sorry but it happens.

I am a little sad one I had begun to feel affection for my colony that seemed to grow in full health… and now...

I think my experience with ant finish here...

Hi max,

I'm sorry to hear that your queen died.
But that doesn't mean you have to stop keeping ants you can try it again.
