To help teach children about ants, I would like to get some BIG ants. . . so it is easier to see the mandibles and body parts. . . which ant species that you sell is biggest?

I think, Camponotus lignipera or Camponotus herculeanus should be the biggest ants in the shop.

Just wondering. If it's only to teach the children, are you going to buy a colony for it ? Maybe it is easyer to use a dead worker from some big species.

I just think like JimmyVe...

what your planning to do with a colony when teaching is done?
Or are u planning to hold´em for a longer project?

Please don´t think just to set´em free after teaching the kids.
About this we had several discussions in the german forum, and setting them free is not favoured, cause it may harm local flora and fauna.

And please also don´t think about killing them after teaching... i won´t explain further. (no need i hope)

If u need them just for once showing them, i would take dead workers. Perhaps u can even find someone with an even bigger exotic breed here...

Another way was to search for good photos here... if help is of need just call me via personal message.

And just for the end... "i don´t want to act like a teacher" with this post, i just want to give an impulse, EDIT especially according to your post http://www.antstore.net/viewtopic.php?t=4955&highlight=

Greetings to the isle

The ant database on this site is not a 100% correct ANToine.
I'm not sure witch one is the biggest. But in the database they are. ;) (12-22 and the other two 6-14)
