General questions

Beitragvon jp.maia » 8. Jan 2007 05:33

Hello I'm interested in severall items of your
online shop but I´ve a few doubsts.
1)I want now the exact meaning of: "The products
marked with *** , are not on stock in the quantity you
requested.
The entered quantity will be supplied in a short
period of time by us. On request, we can do part
delivery." (how I do the request; does the delivery
costs increase; and the prevision for delivery
duration)??
FOR:
. queen: Lasius flavus***
. Antworks Illuminated (incl. light)***

2)Is it really necessary to sign any type of
declaration. If so, how can I do it?
FOR:
. colonie: Pheidole pallidula
level 1 - risk class 3
I would be most grateful if you would look into this
matter as soon as possible.

I have the same doubts...

Beitragvon ANToine » 9. Jan 2007 07:54

In my case the Pheidole pallidula also apears with " *** "
:-k It's green lighted ( o o o exists in store) and I just want one unit (1 colonie) ??? Wy does it say: "The products marked with *** , are not on stock in the quantity you requested..."?
:?: Also it says "risk class: 3" and "level: 1For beginners"... do I need to sign a declaration, and if so, how can it be for beginners and risk 3 at the same time? (is there a english or french explanation for RISK's)... is it signed at delivery?
:detectiv: Wy doesn't Pheidole pallidula have a link to like Polyrhachis dives has, and it's only risk 2? :evil03: :?: risk class: 2 - klick here

If you see ***, than we have it not in the stock, but we get it in the next days. (green point) is manuall not automatic. *** is automatic, if the stocklist "0" pcs.
Pheidole pallidula can perhaps life in a cold place, but not the tropical Polyrhachis dives.

Is Pheidole sp. same as Pheidole palidula? Can it have more than one queen? [-o< If yes, do they have to exist from the beginning?

No, Pheidole pallidula is a certain species. Pheidole sp. is a genus and Pheidole pallidula a species.

But Pheidole pallidula could be Pheidole sp. because, Pheidole sp. isn't described.

Some Pheidole sp. (sp. for "any species") have more than one queen, but it't not the general fact. If there are more that one queen from the beginning of the colony-founding...I'm not able to give a competent answer.

Pheidole pallidula obligatorily has to hibernat?

Beitragvon ANToine » 11. Jan 2007 21:05

:cold: Does Pheidole pallidula obligatorily has to hibernat? (South European Species ?)
is it suficient lowering to 18º C? ...for how long?

In http://www.antstore.net/shop/product_info.php/language/en/products_id/1161/cPath/54_107/South-European-Species/colonie--Pheidole-pallidula/XTCsid/20a9df4d460aeaf93825aa1d8fc2db7a it says: " temperature: Non-sensitive - could hibernate in unheated rooms. " ...it "COULD" means it "DOESN'T HAVE TO"?
:sun01: Is 25º C all year good practice?

I think that the best advice about this would be: try to simulate the natural conditions and enviroment of the habitat where the species lives. If it is south European species try to simulate south European conditions. If the ants are from exotic warm rain forest then simulate the conditions there. If they are from dry desert then... well, I think you get the idea.

Good luck

I'm from the USA and would like to know if you ship products to here and how much would it cost for shipping. I know you couldn't ship queen ants which sucks but I really like your products and can't find anything like them here in the US. also how much would the products cost in US dollars. I love your site by the way. I'm glad to see that someone is taking mymecology seriously. It's not just for kids anymore.

Hi Sanelitefalcon,
I'm sure about it but i think they don't send it to the USA. But maybe this is a question for "UTA" (she is from ANTSTORE).

Greetings

Current exchange rate according to google:

1 Euro = 1.3346 U.S. dollar

The biggest problem would probably be postal/customs charges, which might be higher than what you pay to antstore.

Hi,

I think the problem is not at ANTSTORE but at US customs. They do not allow import of live queens. I think it is also illegal to send live queens from one state to the other. So before you place an order make sure you know how this thing work over there.
