hello,

I wanted to buy an atta colonny but saw that its not possible to send it by post under 10C. Cant you use a polystyren box with a heat pack?

Maybe it is non of my business, but i see you are a newbie here, are you also a newbie in keeping ants. Atta are very difficult to keep you now. Maybe you better start with a easy species.

i agree with jimmyve
atta species are difficult to keep so i beleive that if you are a beginner that you should start with lasius niger eg
as these are much easier to keep

weew i see no answer to my question., i understand now why you are master member (and member) and how... a lot questions out of topics.
thats why i dont like to post.
i am keeping pheidologeton diversus and messor barbarus.
i had colonnies of campo ligniperdus-cruentatus and pheidole pallidula.
lasius niger and others ants are like red fish in a aquarium.
exotic ant species are like salt fish, hard to keep and thats why they are so interesting and fascinating, i dont like red fish. that was some kind of image. understood?

i understand now that you properly are able to keep an atta species but ant store dont send atta species you have to either go to berlin and collect them or have a forwarding agency.

We don't mean it in a bad way Seth3102. but there are lot of newbies on the forum who like to start of with exotic ants and than just let them die because they don't have the experience. So i apologize if we jug you.

Dear seth3102,

exotic/tropical ants with the Text "Collection" is only to pick up from our local shop in Berlin.
Because for shipping is it now to cold and shipping with express and heatpack is a risk.

I think he means gold fish in an aquarium in other words gold fish just arnt as nice as keeping say angel fish or clown fish.
