The colony One queen and some workers 5-6, arrived in T-Tube at 18 o clock. Prepare the basin with clay, water tube and sand-loam mix and place the test-tube.
The worker are bit nervous look phrenetic around the nest.

Worker are bit nervous again explore the basin not they eat anything, sometimes pick up some soil and go in the nest.

8.00 a.m

At the morning im surprised the t-tube entrance is reduced a bit whit loam. Other loam is more inside apparently they made two reduced entrance. Put one spider in the dish some eat it and some they go on in the nest with part of the spider.

18.00 p.m

No loam activity no other activity they rest.

I put one fishy silver, they eat and reducening activity is very tight two workers caught some loam some times the pieces is big double of worker size. I see that in this moment loam must be dry they caught more easy.

19.00 p.m

The loam activity is ended opening is reduced to 16mm at 2-3mm, also the feed activity ended.

Nothing activity outside the nest, only I have moved the Test Tube near the glass, now I can see activity inside the nest, and are all healty some larva and crisalid next to born...

One worker goes out and explore, it not be interested in anything food like one hopper leg, and not even in honey-mix, it explore and grooming...(see discussion tread)

Update

First worker is dead.

There is no much activity outside the nest in the last 10 days, one dead aphid was carried in the nest one week ago, after I have never seen worker in daylight explore, only yesterday afternoon one worker goes out for few second...

It was someday that I have not disturbed the T-tube nest activity, but today I have checked and I seems to see a dead worker in the nest.
In the typical curl position of antdead.

BTW
The number of the worker seem to me a bit increased, and there is a lot of eggs and larvas, apparently no pupas. Queen and other worker seems to be all healty.

In my little experience , I think that was a normal old worker ended the cycle of life.

Any comment are welcome in discussion tread.

The Phoenix's days

21-22 sept 2006

After the first dead , two days of maximum activity, yesterday a worker with the rhythm of a escape every 5 minutes, has carried to the nest a some honey-mix filling up itself the abdomen, and caught agressive a little fly of the fruit.


Today still various times honey, and three mosquitos always at very good rhythm,
and for a moment I have had quite outside on the field two workers.

The Old and New teammate.


Are two days that I have constantly two Workers out, One old and tiny and New more big and most agressive.

Apparently, tiny only explore, big explore and grub Insect and honey-mix. The diet is mosquitos based 2-3 at day. One most problem that frustrating me a bit is to give them Honey-mix, because they hate every dish , every artifice, actually I have some success only with small pills container full of mix honey-water and soil they grub by a microholes or directly. But not works always. Because Honey-mix evaporated hurry and going ungrubbed.

Any advice and comment are welcome in discussion tread.

Cocoons

After many days of feed daylight intense activity, with many insect carried on, with sometimes 3 workers out! , 2 big generation, and 1 tiny, that collaborate in carrie food.
After these day, I said, the situation going quite, no workers out, only in night sometimes a worker grub some honey-mix hurry.
After one week that never see inside the nest, today I have check and the good news are that all seems to be healty with Queen and 10-12 workers, many larvas at good stage and 10-15 cocoons.

Strange days

I have see two big worker third generation, that are very speedly, very decided, and smart, they made some travels at honeymix, the fulling abdomen and going on in the nest...
Ecxtatly one day after, I have checked the nest I have see some cocoons somebig workers about 9 and three tiny workers died, after some hours one died worker was three cm outside the nest...

honey-mix, and some insect,they have implemented recruiting skill I have
see 4 workers contemporary out...and last news is that I have see today
one gray-baby in the nest!! Im father....
