I've gone away for the weekend, and although its not likely they will arrive over the weekend, if they do can they survive being in the packaging for a few days?

Yes, of course, they will survive for a few days. Ants are very robust and it shouldn't be a problem for them.

Or did you order exotic ants? If you did, it depends, which breed you ordered and how sensitive they are.

Its no Problem to keep them in the packing for a few days.
They've got water an thats enough for them. Even for a week.

Thanks for your quick responces! I had a false alarm yesterday when my g/f rang to say that some packages had arrived for me, but they turned out to be something else!

Good to know that there is no rush in setting up the farm etc though

P.s they aren't exotic, they are Camponotus Ligniperda
