Beitragvon kfir » 28. Nov 2005 18:13

Hello,

1. Do you ship to the U.S.?

2. If yes, how long does it take for the order to leave your facility?

3. Do you accept paypal for payment?

4. Can you tell me which ant colony has the LARGEST ants for a reasonable price?

Thanks!

What about formicaries and other supplies? I'm especially interested in the gel media, which is not readily available in the US. Is the new dry media the same formulation as the liquid?

Yes, it's the same - you must give only clear water to this dry material.
But we delivery not to USA.

I understand why you cant ship live ants due to the current laws in the USA.. But what about the starter sets such as the ANTSTORE Starter Set - acrylfarm/arena?

As far as i know at least from my 3 weeks of searching online There are no other farms like these availble in the USA right now...

This is what im primarly intrested in to start with... theres no point in capturing a queen if i dont have a habitat to put it in.

I can understand it would be hard to ship the glass habitats, I do a lot of exotic marine life keeping and in fact I avoid shipping glass of any kind, Acrylic if a diffrent story.

So any of the starter sets can be sold and shipped to the USA?

They might ship that to the US, but shipping and customs can be pretty expensive, to the point where it is better to just build the setup yourself.

I never shipped stuff overseas, though. Maybe uta can tell you the exact details for shipping.

Thats not all ways entirely true... thats why i want to find out if they do as well as price... See different types of acrylic are more expensive than others... They are assembling these farms with experience and have methods that work so not only are they buying large Quantity's of materials making it cheaper to build but also have a proven process. This alone begs to ask the question is it worth the extra money and how much extra?

@ Case: Whoa, I had to read that last post twice, and English is my native tongue!

The quickest and easiest way to work this out would be to go to the shop section of the site, register and then put in what it is you want to buy - the cost to send is automatically calculated at the bottom of the page.

With the largest ants out there, you will probably need to make your own farm anyway, but this site defo has the right equipment for the job. For really big ants, you can;t get away with a small set up, you need to actually create a large tank for them.

If you look under building materials in the shop you'll find a wealth of options. Your best bet is to post a thread stating what ants it is you want to keep and what the recommended set up is...

I checked the DHL site. An insured parcel (up to 120x60x60cm) to the US costs:
<5kg: €32
5-10kg: €42
10-20kg: €62

A small package (up to 90x60x60cm, <2kg, not insured) costs €12.90

I don't know about customs.

Forget shipping and customs fees, after surfing the DHL site shipping to the US looks to be a paperwork nightmare (something akin to insurance policies and income tax forms). There's no way someone without prior experience or a good coach could a) figure out which forms are required and b) stand a snowball's chance in Hades of filling them out correctly on the first try. So much for free trade...

I think, that is not so cheap. customs duty + extra etc.

you can order and pay our items by Antstore.
we are packing all together.
but you must assign a pick up service by DHL.
Then we have not the risk and surprise, that we get some weeks later a high invoice from the supplier ;-)
