They might ship ant farms and other utilities to the US, but I doubt they will ship ants, unless you have a special permit for importing living ants.

Either way be prepared for high shipping costs, customs duty and so on.

That is true, for ants you maybe better off buying them from people who will send them to you. but you have to be carful with them that they don't escape, and if you don't want them any more that you sell them are destroy them, so they don't come in nature over there.
I understand its hard to buy queens in the USA ?

Dear Jimmy,

who dispatches the ants without approval in the USA or takes, does itself not only liable to penalty.
If the ants arrange there a damage, high liability punishments can follow. Example: Myrmica rubra in North America

I though so but i didn't now for sure. I only have experience with people from Europe. and i heard some of them exchange queens. i now its better not to let your ants free. only if you captured the queen yourself in a range of 10km.
So Elmnt2k, maybe its better to start with a species from the USA ? or to play safe and pay the tax . ;)

The easiest way is to try and catch a new queen right after the mating. Depending on the species and your local weather, you may still catch one.

Or get in contact with ant keepers in the US. One place to look would be Hyperlinks sind nur für registrierte Nutzer sichtbar

Although there is law that prohibits shipping queens from state to state, there may also be some exceptions, like if the species is native in both states.

I hope this helps.
