I have single queen. Do they need water? i have heard that queens can get along with the water in their stomach. Also if they need water what is the best method?

The best way to keep an ant queen is to put it into a test-tube with water. To avoid a drowning of the queen close the tube with cotton, put the queen in and close the tube to avoid an escape. It is also a good idea to roll a red clear foil around the tube to simulate darkness. Ants are not able to see red light, so the queen think it is dark.

that's not for all ants. Lasius species do see the light.
