I see you can take the inner 'basin' out and place it however you like, right? So far so good, but what I'd like to know is this: is the inner basin open so that I can put things in so that the ants can reach them (either on the upper side, or on the underside so that I can put it in upside down ), or is it closed so that I can only put things on top of it?

And another question: the 'Glas Ameisenfarm 30x20x1,8 cm' is wider than the antfarm deluxe, right? Do you think it would be wide enough for Messor barbarus? Would the 10 mm tubes be wide enough for M. barbarus; perhaps the larger majors won't be able to get through?

The second question was, however, about the Glass Antfarm. You say the antfarm deluxe would even be suitable? That would be nice because it is considerably larger. However, it is also considerably less wide. Is it not too narrow for the larger ants (majors and queen) to move between the glasses?

it's possible to take the glass antfarm, but a second reservoir (arena) is necessary.

But I think it's better to take a glass basin, because Messor barbarus need a dry and a damp area.

I understand that an arena is necessary, this is only about the nest area.
Do you by 'a glass basin' mean a 30x20x20 'glasbecken'?
I think it should be well possible to make a dry and a damp side in either the antfarm deluxe or the glass antfarm, don't you?
Alright, I get kind of confused by my own questions now...
What I still would like to know now is:
-Is the deluxe antfarm not too narrow for the larger ants in the colony (making the glass antfarm more suitable because it's wider)?
-Is 10 mm tubing not too narrow for the larger ants in the colony to move through?

Or should I just get a 'Doppelapartment', so that I can easily have one side dry and one side wet? That would probably resolve most of my questions, although: does the queen fit in the farm area of such a basin comfortably? How wide is it (the farm part)?

for Messor barbarus is the antfarm delux possible and the 10mm tube is OK, but better is a glass basin 30x20x20 or a ant apartment 30x20x20 or bigger. the same is with the tupe/pipe 26mm.
